What: Birthing with Confidence are free, live, online childbirth educational session for pregnant patients in prenatal care at URMC Gender Wellness OB/GYN.
Why: Historically, any childbirth education preparation is fee based. This is a major problem for women of low income, as this is often out of reach. The project is also primarily targeted for women of color, who generally have a higher risk of pregnancy outcomes.
Goals: To empower women to be prepared and and knowledgeable for how they want their labor, delivery, and childbirth experience to be.
